NOTE TO ALL ONTARIO, CANADA, CUSTOMERS
  • the system has limitations on how we can enter our shipping charges within our listings. For Canadian shipments we had to set the default flat rate shipping charge to the "Rest of Canada" shipping rates shown above. This is because we cannot setup up shipping rates by province only by country! BEFORE PAYING for your purchase(s), please message us and let us know that you have completed purchasing and we will send out a final invoice to you with the correct shipping rate for your selected shipping method and purchase type.

NOTE TO ALL CUSTOMERS
  • BEFORE making your payment please message us and let us know that you have completed shopping and we will send out a final invoice to you with the correct shipping rate for your selected shipping method and ship to location; and
  • if payment was made before we were able to send out the final invoice, we will not be able to go back and make any changes to the order whatsoever! After payment was received, the system does not allow sellers to make changes to paid orders because the system considers those orders to be closed orders.

ABOUT OUR SHIPPING CHARGES
  • for seller protection, PayPal requires that we ship with online tracking. This is because if a customer makes an 'Item Not Received' claim with PayPal, then PayPal will check the online tracking for proof of delivery. The only way we can show proof of delivery is to ship via Canada Post's higher cost Expedited shipping method. Regular parcel shipping via Canada Post is cheaper but it does not provide online tracking, and if we use this method, PayPal does not provide seller protection to us for customer filed lost shipment claims. So please understand; we do not over charge on shipping;
  • our charge of $11.25 to the USA is less than what it costs for us to ship to any USA location. Other Canadian's may ship to you at a lower cost, but then they are not shipping with online tracking and they are not protected by PayPal seller protection. We are a genuine licensed business and we have to handle our business with the best business practices for both buyer and seller; and
  • we have not inflated our prices to cover the additional shipping cost that we pay to Canada Post on your behalf for your shipment and we do not charge a handling fee to help us cover the additional hidden costs of shipping such as the purchasing of: shipping bags and boxes, packaging materials and tape, labels, paper, printer ink, etc.

SHIPMENT TRACKING
  • after we have picked and packaged your order, once the shipping label is printed, we automatically send out a shipping notification with tracking number. Please allow 2-3 business days for Canada Post to update online tracking; and
  • we prepare our shipments at night, so if you get your shipment notification (for example), dated January, 1st, the shipment actually leaves first thing in the morning on January 2nd, which would mean the item was accepted at Canada Post on January 2nd and not on the date the shipping notification was sent.
TURN AROUND TIME AND DELIVERY
  • from the date on which your full and cleared payment was received, we have a three (3) business day turn around time to get your order out of the door;
  • the estimated delivery times shown in the shipping table above are provided by Canada Post and as per Canada Post's policies, they take affect only on the date that your shipment was accepted by Canada Post and not on the date that you received the shipping confirmation;
  • Our three (3) business day turn around time to get your shipment on its way to you is NOT included in the Canada Post estimated delivery times shown in the shipping table above; and
  • Canada Post does not guarantee delivery times for shipments with non-Canadian destinations. This is due to unforeseen customs, weather and other delays that can take place. The above delivery estimates are just that, estimates.

INSURANCE
  • insurance is included for all shipments valued at $100 and under. Canada Post charges an additional fifty cents (.50) per each additional $100 of shipment value. So for example, if your order comes to $110, you will be charged fifty cents (.50) for insurance on your shipment. If your shipment value is $210, you will be charged an additional one dollar ($1.00) for insurance on your shipment; and
  • again, please do not pay until we send a final adjusted invoice to you which (if applicable) also includes the correct insurance charge.

CUSTOMS CHARGES (if applicable)
  • In addition to any shipping and/or other charges paid to Global Discoveries Store, all customers are fully responsible for payment of any import, customs or other fees that the shipping carrier or their country or their countries' customs department assesses on the shipment at the time that the shipment enters the country; and
  • to be clear, the customer is responsible for all such fees whether payment is requested at time of delivery by the carrier or whether payment is requested via an invoice or bill sent by the carrier or sent by the countries' customs department or delivered in any other manner for the collection of such fees, even after delivery was made to the customer.

LOST SHIPMENT CLAIMS
  • A loss claim must be submitted to us in writing either via the store messaging system or via email within thirty (30) days of the actual shipping date for domestic shipments (Canada, USA), or sixty (45) days of the actual shipping date for international shipments;
  • If your shipment becomes lost in transit, we will contact Canada Post with the tracking number and other necessary information and Canada Post will send a statutory declaration to our customer for the customer to fill out and sign attesting to the fact that the shipment was not received. Once Canada Post gets the statutory declaration back from our customer, they will then begin their investigation of the loss of shipment fully at both ends;
  • As per Canada Post's 'Parcel Service Guide', Section 22.7 Exclusion from Liability "No claim shall be paid for a shipment where: the addressee or sender fails to cooperate with Canada Post's investigation."; and
  • After having investigated the loss claim, if Canada Post concludes that the loss of shipment was genuine, we will be satisfied with their decision and we will either at no cost to our customer, re-ship the garment(s) purchased or we will re-ship any garment(s) remaining in stock and reimburse any difference. If none of the garment(s) purchased are in stock, then we will fully reimburse the lost shipment, or if the customer prefers, they can select other garments in exchange and have them shipped out at our cost.

ACCEPTABLE RETURN SHIPPING METHODS

We DO NOT accept returns via couriers!

  • In the past when we accepted courier returned shipments, we were charged high brokerage and other fees by the courier companies. We simply cannot afford to pay these fees. We require that returns come via the cheapest Canada Post, USPS, or International air return methods available. We recommend that the customer insure the return shipment because we will not be responsible for return shipments that do not reach us.
